Martin J-16E Black Smoke w/softshell case

The J-16E Black Smoke brings Martin’s Jumbo body shape to the refreshed 16 Series, pairing a gloss spruce top with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides. The Black Smoke top finish gives the guitar a distinctly understated appearance, contrasted by the natural rosewood back and sides in a satin finish.

Its full-size Jumbo body uses scalloped X-bracing and Martin’s traditional 25.4" scale length. This combination is designed for substantial projection and low-end presence, while the East Indian rosewood construction contributes the overtone content and clear high end associated with the tonewood.

The select hardwood neck has a satin finish and Modified Low Oval profile. An ebony fingerboard carries Style 28 inlays across 20 frets, with a 1 3/4" nut width. Nickel open-gear tuners, an ebony bridge, TUSQ saddle and grained ivoroid pickguard complete the appointments.

For amplified use, the J-16E is equipped with an L.R. Baggs Element pickup system. Martin includes a softshell case and Authentic Acoustic Lifespan 2.0 Light strings.
