Martin OM-28 Sunburst w/case

The Martin OM-28 Sunburst combines the balanced response and comfortable proportions of an Orchestra Model with the rich tonal character of solid spruce and East Indian rosewood. Part of Martin's refreshed 2025 Standard Series, this guitar features a 1935 Sunburst gloss top, bold herringbone purfling, and traditional Style 28 appointments. Its 000-14 Fret body and longer 25.4" scale length provide excellent clarity, projection, and dynamic range, making the OM-28 a versatile choice for fingerstyle playing, flatpicking, and accompaniment.

The solid spruce top is supported by Golden Era scalloped X-bracing with 1/4" spruce braces. Updated for the 2025 Standard Series, the Golden Era bracing incorporates design elements from Martin's Modern Deluxe instruments, allowing the top to respond freely while producing a resonant, articulate voice. Solid East Indian rosewood back and sides contribute deep bass, complex overtones, and clear high frequencies. The smaller Orchestra Model body provides a focused, balanced response across all six strings, while the longer scale length offers added string tension, projection, and sustain compared to shorter-scale 000 models.

The select hardwood neck features Martin's Golden Era Modified Low Oval profile with a High-Performance Taper, combining a vintage-inspired shape with a comfortable modern feel. A satin neck finish allows smooth movement along the fingerboard, while the traditional dovetail neck joint provides a secure connection to the body. The ebony fingerboard features a 1 3/4" nut width, 20 frets, and long-pattern Diamonds and Squares abalone inlays. Martin's 2025 Standard Series refinements also include a thinner fingerboard and reshaped heel, improving comfort without changing the instrument's traditional character.

The OM-28 Sunburst features bold herringbone top purfling, antique white binding, a Style 28 multi-stripe rosette, and a faux tortoise pickguard. Its ebony Golden Era Modern Belly bridge is equipped with a compensated bone saddle and bone bridge pins with faux tortoise dots. Nickel open-gear tuning machines with butterbean knobs complete the vintage-inspired hardware, while the East Indian rosewood headplate carries Martin's old-style script logo.

With its gloss 1935 Sunburst top, natural gloss rosewood back and sides, and understated vintage appointments, the OM-28 Sunburst offers a distinctive take on one of Martin's most enduring acoustic designs.
