Overview

The Mesa/Boogie Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II combines the core features of Mesa's earlier Subway bass preamps into a compact pedalboard-friendly format designed for live performance, recording, and practice. Its solid-state J-FET preamp accommodates both active and passive basses, with dedicated Input, Boost, and Master controls providing everything from clean, warm bass tones to mild overdrive.

Tone shaping is extensive without relying on menus or presets. A variable Hi-Pass filter, Variable Voicing control, Deep and Bright switches, and fully active four-band EQ with sweepable Low Mid and High Mid frequencies provide detailed control over the bass signal. The Subway+ also includes a balanced XLR DI, balanced or unbalanced preamp output, headphone output, aux input, and footswitchable Mute and Boost functions for a versatile all-in-one bass preamp solution.
