The Powers Electric A-Type Select pairs Andy Powers’ modern electric guitar design with striking figured maple aesthetics and a highly resonant hollowbody platform. This example features a beautifully figured Birdseye maple top finished in Glacier Burst, highlighting the natural character of the wood while complementing the distinctive offset silhouette of the A-Type.

Built around the A-Type’s trussed hollowbody construction with an Urban Ash body, the instrument offers a lively, responsive feel that blends acoustic-like resonance with the control needed for amplified performance. The lightweight structure enhances sustain and note bloom while helping suppress unwanted feedback during higher gain playing.

The one-piece mahogany neck and Honduran rosewood fingerboard provide a smooth, natural playing surface with excellent clarity and articulation across the fretboard. The asymmetrical fingerboard radius supports comfortable chord work and fluid string bending, while jumbo frets and a 24-⅞" scale length maintain excellent balance between tension and playability.

Equipped with PF42 pickups, this A-Type delivers a firmer, brighter response compared to the warmer FF42 set, providing punchy articulation and clear note separation across clean and driven tones. The proprietary CamTail vibrato tailpiece works with the Delrin saddle and steel bridge base to produce smooth vibrato action while maintaining tuning stability.

Grey-plated hardware and dark resin knobs complete the modern aesthetic, allowing the Glacier Burst Birdseye maple top to remain the visual centerpiece of this boutique electric guitar.
