Overview

The PRS NF 53 takes inspiration from a vintage 1953 guitar in Paul Reed Smith’s collection, combining that traditional tonal direction with modern PRS construction and hardware. A swamp ash body is paired with a 25.5" scale bolt-on maple neck and rosewood fingerboard, creating a responsive platform with the familiar snap and articulation associated with this style of guitar.

At the heart of the NF 53 are two PRS Narrowfield DD (Deep Dish) pickups. Their taller bobbins accommodate additional windings, while extra metal components between the magnets help produce a focused, powerful response with clear high-end character and reduced hum. Straightforward volume and tone controls with a 3-way blade switch keep the layout familiar, while the steel plate-style bridge and PRS Phase III tuners provide a solid foundation for tuning stability and sustain.
