Designed completely by Tone Shop Guitars at the PRS Private Stock Vault, this Private Stock #11863 was conceived as a lightweight, classic-style McCarty Singlecut with an elevated but restrained Private Stock presentation. Our team selected every piece of wood for the build at the PRS factory, pairing a curly maple top with a South American mahogany back and semi-hollow construction, all finished in McCarty Glow.

The curly maple top sits over the South American mahogany back, while a mahogany neck carries a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard bound in curly maple. The Brazilian rosewood continues onto the headstock veneer and truss rod cover, tying the wood selection together across the entire instrument.

PRS’s Pattern Vintage neck carve gives the guitar its traditional McCarty feel. The fingerboard features solid mother-of-pearl birds with white mother-of-pearl outlines, while the headstock is finished with a Gold Mother of Pearl Private Stock Eagle outlined in white mother-of-pearl. Curly maple binding around the fingerboard and headstock adds another subtle custom detail without taking the build away from its classic direction.

A pair of McCarty III humbuckers is controlled by two volume controls, two tone controls, and a three-way toggle. The layout stays intentionally traditional and straightforward, matching the overall concept behind the guitar.

Gold and nickel hardware includes a PRS two-piece stoptail bridge and Phase III non-locking tuners with wing buttons. South American mahogany backplates, a bone nut, high-gloss nitro finish, and Private Stock D1 case complete a build that was designed from the beginning to feel like a refined, lightweight interpretation of a classic McCarty Singlecut.
