PRS Private Stock #12509 was completely designed by Tone Shop Guitars from the ground up, with our team choosing every single element of the build and hand-selecting each piece of wood from the PRS Private Stock Vault. From the quilted maple top and swamp ash back to the ash neck, quilted maple fingerboard, inlays, hardware, finish, and electronics, every detail was intentionally specified by Tone Shop.

The quilted maple top is finished in Frostbite Dragon’s Breath, while the swamp ash back and ash neck receive a White Wash treatment with black grainfill. The contrast between the figured maple top and open-grained ash gives this Private Stock a completely different look from a traditional mahogany-backed Custom 24.

The ash neck uses PRS’s Pattern Thin carve and is paired with a quilted maple fingerboard bound in curly maple. White/Black Web Stone birds with white mother-of-pearl outlines run across the fingerboard, while a matching Cooper’s Hawk inlay appears at the heel. The quilted maple headstock veneer is also curly maple bound and carries a White/Black Web Stone Private Stock Eagle with white mother-of-pearl outline.

A pair of PRS DMO humbuckers is controlled by a master volume, master tone, and five-way blade switch. Gold and nickel hardware includes a PRS Gen III tremolo and Phase III set-screw locking tuners with curly maple buttons stained to match.

Swamp ash backplates, a matching quilted maple truss rod cover, PRS Signature .010 strings, and a Private Stock D1 case complete a guitar that was conceived, specified, and wood-selected by Tone Shop Guitars from start to finish.
