PRS Tekton Floyd Neon Green

The PRS Tekton “Floyd” takes the Tekton platform and bolts a Floyd Rose 1000 Series tremolo to it. Finished in Neon Green over a solid alder body, it’s the most aggressive guitar in the family and it’s not subtle about who it’s for — dive bombs, flutter, wide vibrato, and everything that comes back in tune afterward.

Alder keeps the weight down and the response quick. There’s no figured top here; the Floyd models get their own color palette instead, running to solid and sparkle finishes rather than wood grain. The shallow violin carve, sculpted contours, and upper-fret scoop carry over from the rest of the Tekton line.

The maple neck is scarf-jointed and carved to a Modern “D” profile: thin, but with enough shoulder that it doesn’t feel like a stick. Hormigo strength rods run through it — the same idea as the carbon rods PRS uses in its acoustics — adding stability and rigidity, which also does good things for how the guitar resonates. The ebony fingerboard carries a new-for-PRS offset dot inlay and Luminlay side dots so you can find your place on a dark stage. String spacing matches the PRS Silver Sky and Fiore — a touch wider than PRS’s traditional spacing, which helps with sweeping and gives the picking hand more room to be precise. Stainless steel frets, PRS Jumbo size, on a 16” radius.

PRS voiced the Stylus pickups specifically for this family. They’re aggressive but clear, with a flatter output than most PRS humbuckers — deliberately, so they behave through digital rigs and modelers as well as they do into a tube amp. Alnico 5 magnets, and lower output than a lot of pickups aimed at this genre, which is where the note definition comes from. Every position is usable: humbucking or split, alone or together.

The Floyd Rose 1000 Series unit is cut to a 16” radius to match the board. Note that the Floyd models run PRS Phase III non-locking tuners, since the locking nut handles that job. Smoked black hardware, high-gloss nitro body, satin nitro neck. Ships with a PRS Premium Gig Bag.

Tekton is the Ancient Greek word for craftsman or builder — specifically a woodworker. Stylus is an instrument for writing. PRS picked both on purpose.
