About This Item
The Seymour Duncan ’59 Model is built to capture the open, full character of a classic late-’50s P.A.F.-style humbucker while adding a few practical refinements for modern guitars and amps.
The SH-1b bridge model uses vintage-inspired coils and an Alnico 5 bar magnet for a full low end, open midrange and clear top end with smooth sustain. Its vintage output makes it a great fit for everything from blues and classic rock to heavier styles where you still want definition from the bridge position.
Construction stays rooted in the original formula with 42 AWG plain enamel magnet wire, a long-legged nickel-silver bottom plate and vintage-style single-conductor braided lead. Seymour Duncan also vacuum wax pots the pickup to help control unwanted feedback at higher volume and gain levels.
Like Seymour Duncan’s other P.A.F.-style pickups, the ’59 Model is wound using Seymour’s classic Leesona 102 winding machine from the original Gibson factory in Kalamazoo.
