Taylor Next Generation Builder's Edition 314ce LTD Sitka / Walnut

The Taylor Next Generation Builder's Edition 314ce LTD Sitka / Walnut combines the familiar clarity and projection of Sitka spruce with the warmth and focused midrange of walnut in a limited-edition Grand Auditorium acoustic-electric. Featuring Taylor's scalloped V-Class bracing, innovative Action Control Neck, and Claria electronics, this model brings the latest Taylor performance refinements to a versatile tonewood combination. Builder's Edition comfort contours, a natural satin spruce top, and Kona Burst walnut back and sides give the instrument a distinctive balance of modern functionality and understated styling.

The Sitka spruce top provides clear articulation, dynamic headroom, and the projection needed for a wide range of playing styles. Walnut back and sides complement that response with a warm, substantial midrange, strong fundamental focus, and a defined low end. The combination offers the familiar versatility of a spruce-topped acoustic with a different tonal character from traditional rosewood or mahogany pairings. Taylor's scalloped V-Class bracing enhances volume, sustain, and resonance, helping the Grand Auditorium body maintain clarity and balance whether played with a pick or fingers. From energetic strumming and flatpicking to more detailed fingerstyle arrangements, the 314ce LTD is designed to respond across a broad dynamic range.

The mahogany Action Control Neck incorporates Taylor's latest neck design, allowing convenient action adjustments to accommodate individual playing preferences. Its satin finish provides a smooth playing feel, while the 25.5" scale length and 1 3/4" nut width offer familiar Taylor string tension and spacing. The Crelicam ebony fingerboard features Sentinel inlays made from faux-pearl Italian acrylic, providing a clean, contemporary appearance. Ebony fingerboard binding complements the dark playing surface, while the beveled cutaway offers comfortable access to the upper frets.

As part of Taylor's Builder's Edition collection, the 314ce LTD incorporates carefully shaped body contours that improve comfort during extended playing sessions. Chamfered body edges soften the contact points around the Grand Auditorium body, while a beveled mahogany armrest provides a smooth resting surface for the picking arm. The beveled cutaway continues the sculpted design and allows easier movement into the upper register. Black, ivoroid, and black purfling outlines the top and back, complemented by a faux-pearl Italian acrylic rosette. The natural Sitka spruce top contrasts with the rich Kona Burst finish on the walnut back, sides, and mahogany neck, while the satin finish throughout the instrument maintains a smooth, understated appearance.

Taylor's Claria electronics system provides integrated amplification for live performance and recording, complementing the guitar's balanced acoustic response. Nickel Taylor tuning machines, a white Micarta saddle, and D'Addario XS coated phosphor bronze light strings complete the hardware package. With its combination of spruce clarity, walnut warmth, scalloped V-Class bracing, and Builder's Edition comfort features, the Next Generation Builder's Edition 314ce LTD offers a versatile acoustic-electric guitar suited to a wide range of players and musical styles. A brown Taylor Deluxe hardshell case is included for protection during storage and transportation.
