Walrus Audio Canvas Expression Pedal

The Walrus Audio Canvas Expression reimagines what an expression pedal can do, giving you two independently configurable outputs that can operate as expression, switch, or control voltage sources. Instead of carrying multiple controllers for different jobs, Canvas Expression is designed to adapt to your board, synth rig, desktop setup, or MIDI workflow.

Each output can be configured independently, so Jack A and Jack B can control two different devices at the same time. Use it for standard expression sweeps, programmable switch control, or CV output for synths and modular gear.

Beyond analog control, Canvas Expression also functions as a deep MIDI controller, capable of sending up to 16 assignable MIDI messages over USB-C and TRS MIDI. It can handle Control Change, Program Change, high-resolution 14-bit USB MIDI, and MIDI input for remotely enabling or disabling outputs.

Setup is handled through onboard configuration and the Canvas web editor, where you can adjust MIDI assignments, switch behavior, TS resistance values, global settings, and firmware updates. Automatic expression wiring detection, adjustable taper, forward or reverse sweep direction, and programmable switching make it easy to fit into a wide range of rigs.

The treadle feel is adjustable, and the design has no strings, pots, or gears to wear out, get scratchy, or fail mid-set. Canvas Expression is built to be the central control point for a modern pedalboard, synth system, or studio setup.
