The Walrus Audio Mantle Bass Pre-Amp/DI is a studio-grade front-end designed to serve as a foundational tone tool for electric bass. Developed in close collaboration with Ian Martin Allison, Mantle focuses on delivering clarity, harmonic depth, and authoritative low-end through a carefully voiced, transformer-based signal path.

Built around a high-impedance JFET input stage and custom Sapphire transformers, Mantle brings together classic console-inspired character with modern headroom and flexibility. Whether used as an always-on tone shaper, a recording DI, or a live performance hub, it’s designed to present your bass in its most confident and fully realized form.
